PBR in Pueblo

Lisa Niday - Saturday, May 19, 2012

The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) has returned to its home in Pueblo for tour stop number 19. This is the last stop before the summer break and by the looks of the number of rides last night, I believe the riders are feeling the aches and pains and can use a break to let their bodies heal. Read more

PBR Championship Sunday

Lisa Niday - Tuesday, November 01, 2011

Today's line up featured all 40 riders completing a round of rides and then the top 15 riders in the average would move on to a championship round to face the top 15 bulls of the week. The championship was still up for grabs with about 2000 points separating Brazilians, Valdiron de Oliveira and Silvano Alves. In this round it was most important for some riders to get a ride to keep their chances for the championship round alive, for others it was redemption to walk away from the finals with at least one qualified ride and for others it was contention for winning the PBR Finals, which pays some $250,000 to the winner. Read more

PBR Finals Round 4

Lisa Niday - Tuesday, November 01, 2011

Once again I think the bulls have triumphed over the riders in this round. We had only 13 qualified rides out of the 40. However, of the 10 that rode some very important rides occurred. Event leader, Caleb Sanderson rode Big Stink for 87.50 bringing his event leading score to 348.25 points, but a host of other Brazilians are on his heels. Rubens Barbosa (264.75 after posting an 88.75 on Motown Magic; Guilherme Marchi turning in a 90 point ride on Sancho, 2nd in the round, brought his event total to 264.50; and Robson Palermo posted an 88 on White Velvet to bring his event total to 263.25 points. Read more

PBR Finals Round 3

Lisa Niday - Saturday, October 29, 2011

Round 1 belonged to the bulls and the riders evened it up by day 2 with almost half of the riders obtaining a qualified score. Well when the bulls get even, it's rough on the riders. Last night was the pen of the rankest bulls, according to PBR Livestock Director, Cody Lambert. It certainly showed in the scores with only 10 riders having a qualified ride. Read more

PBR Finals Round 2

Lisa Niday - Friday, October 28, 2011

If the first night belonged to the bulls then last night the riders came back in spades. We had over half of the riders make the eight seconds. We also have a tie for the average, both Caleb Sanderson (Florida cowboy) and Rubens Barbosa (Brazil) have 176 points having covered all their bulls thus far. Valdiron Oliveira (Brazil) who led the race for the 2011 Champion for over half the season, returned to his form winning the round with 90.75 score. He currently is second to his team mate from Brazil, Silvano Alves. Although Silvano was able to get a qualified ride, Valdiron will pick up bonus points for the round win, thus closing the gap between he and Alves for the PBR championship. Read more

Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Finals-Behind the Scenes

Lisa Niday - Thursday, October 27, 2011

Sports are different to everyone. For some it's NFL, NBA, college basketball or football, baseball, etc but by the time you reach baby boomer stage, the majority of the sports we participate in are now spectator sports. That's not to say that plenty of us don't indulge in golf, fishing, hunting, tennis or other sports but we all know that our bodies tell us that our most active participation in sports is behind us. Read more
